I wanted to bring Etsy.com to everyone's attention, as a possible alternative to eBay for selling ACEOs and other pieces of art. I created my shop there just after Halloween, and have already sold one original ACEO (at my asking price of $30), plus two other originals ($40 and $60) and two prints ($40 each). I'm sure part of that was due to the holidays, but it was still astounding to me.
The main problems I encountered when I attempted to sell on eBay last year were a result of being completely new to the site. A lack of feedback resulted in no sales but a payout of $1-$2 per listing. Even if my art had sold, the recommended sale prices for new artist ACEOs were far lower than the prices at which I was actually comfortable selling. Between the two factors, after a month and a half-dozen listings, I gave up.
I didn't expect much of Etsy, but I figured that at only $0.20 per item for a four month listing, it was worth a shot. I set my prices where I felt they should be ($30 for an original ACEO and $10 for a limited giclee print), and to my surprise one of my ACEOs was immediately featured and another sold within a couple weeks.
To me, the stability of being able to state my price and have it taken seriously is a huge advantage. I think there is a lot of potential on Etsy for artist-driven art sales, both in ACEOs and other artwork. Most of the people who buy from the site are either artist/craftspeople themselves, or have a deep appreciation for the time and skill that goes into creating art and craft items.
I can't recommend the Etsy enough, as a venue for artists and craftspeople to reach a serious buying market that understands and appreciates our work. My ACEO category is at

Does anyone else list their ACEOs on Etsy? I would be interested in coordinating, perhaps forming an official Etsy Team, to help generate more awareness and sales for all of us.
